Daniel Goehring – Mobile Robotics and Autonomous Vehicles
| Daniel Goehring's research focused on robotic perception, object tracking, self-localization and planning. Besides behavioral planning for single robots, he was also interested in cooperative behavioral planning methods. He liked to solve real world problems with limited sensor data and computational resources.
During his two years of research as a PostDoc at the International Computer Science Institute at Berkeley, California, USA, he applied vision based machine learning approaches for perceptual tasks on a PR2 household robot platform. Since 2010 – being part of one of the first self-driving car projects in Germany – and until 2026 he was enthusiastically working in the field of autonomous driving at the Freie Universität Berlin.
